His Creation

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. – Genesis 1:3-8

Our God created this! He made this an let us enjoy this beauty. Take a moment and pause, look up from the screen and see what beauty surrounds you. He created this! He created the world we live in, and he created each one of us.

A wonderful book called, “Jesus Calling” had this devotional, “Learn to enjoy life more. Relax, remember that I am God with you. I crafted you with enormous capacity to know Me and enjoy My Presence. When My people wear sour faces and walk through their lives with resigned rigidity, I am displeased. When you walk through a day with childlike delight, savoring every blessing, you proclaim your trust in Me, your ever-present Shepherd. The more fully you can enjoy life. Glorify Me through your pleasure in Me. Thus proclaim My Presence to the watching world.” Look at verses Matthews 1:23 and John 10:10-11

Be in a childlike delight! Run through open fields, lay on the ground an look up at clouds, be still. God calls us to be quiet with him and be still. What a better way then to look out into the world he’s created us to be in. Look up! Now go be with the day and take every opportunity God has granted you with!

Where’s the Personal Connection?

This is a sad truth to the world we live in. Don’t we want to be present for the person/people we are there for? By just being there, doesn’t mean we are actually there for our friends or a person in need. We are not fulfilling what God ask of us, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. . . Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” – Galatians 6:2, 9, 10

We all have experienced moments like this, you are with your friends and they all seem to be one their phones. The most annoying moments come when you are one on one with a friend you haven’t seen or you’re catching up with them and they constantly check their phone. Have you ever called them out for it? Doesn’t it make you feel like you’re not valuable or enough for them? Well you are valued. Technology is great for connecting us to one another and letting us know about events, peoples lives, or latest thing, but that’s just what they want you to know.

Social media doesn’t let us see what is really happening in their lives. Being so caught up in ourself and all these outlets we miss the beauty and world around us. We live in a beautiful world. Each day is a blessing and a gift, treat it like one. See the person next to you and smile or ask them how they are. The smallest thing can mean so much. Doesn’t it make you smile when someone says hi, even if you don’t know them?!

The way this world is going we will all meet one another from the internet setting us up because we are all so busy in our own lives that making a personal connection is almost lost. Don’t lose it! Even as you’re reading me on the computer, smart phone or tablet, look up! What a beautiful place you’re in. Go for a walk and be in awe of where God has you.
