If there were no computers then coming up with predictions for how the market would go, being able to look over analysis. computers were invented to do arithmetic. That I honestly never knew and find very interesting. There is human error and now with so much data out there, it is a longer process to track and follow all the data. Now you can make a program and follow the calculating. When there is an error it messes up all he data. Computer take out the human error. It is quicker and can give easier data without error from it being programed.

If there was no data then the tracking of our money, how would our bank have the correct amount? One person could have one number and another person has another and then they have to go back and forth to see who is right and if they say one person is right compared to another person, they both could be wrong but there is the process that is done over and over and how could banks keep track if they say someone has an amount in the bank while the person whose bank account it is says it is a different amount? Would people then not have banks and keep their money in their mattresses still?

Navigating, would people be flying? Now there is auto pilot and plans are tracked by computers with software in the plan so they can track plans to not collide and make sure they are heading in the right direction. This helps keep people safe and people on the track they are going so that they can plan accordingly.

Bank and flying are so much of our culture I couldn’t image it being different.

Coding, I’m not sure if this counts but for my thinking it does. This is how you can build a website, makes things work, and have a safety. For this I think it would help me grow at my current position because I would be given more work at my current position to work on front and back end pages of websites. I think it’s also cool that it has turned into three different types of languages. From this is could lead to doing so many thing not just website but building games or being able to build a site for someone because in today’s world there are so many jobs needed for this field.

Another would be Photoshop to learn how to grow in graphic design. How do you manipulate the images? How can things slide differently. How can these images work this way and this won’t? There is just so much to Photoshop and editing that I don’t understand and it is something I really wish to learn.

I think both of these would be a great skill to have the two together because they are both needed to build a website. You need the images and to have the right look, but to have images slide and be able to be clicked on, you need to know some coding the embed that into a site for them to work together. This combination is somewhere I can see myself growing inside of my current company and also a skill to have beyond what I am currently doing.

A world where you can enter and depending on if you’re feeling hot or cold, the room will adjust to that. Most homes and streets have a section where you can sweep garbage and such to and it’ll continue to have cleaner street. There are still recycling bins to separate on the street. Doors automatically open when you approach them, the bathrooms are as they are now, and have a spray that’ll sanitize it when the room is empty.

Parks are preserved and have no cell service but will have sets of emergency beacons. There will be restaurants that will have only a land line and have a turn off for all electronic service.

Time will be appreciated and people will take time off in order to recharge. Technology will be able to bring the balance back to make people more interactive. There will be less relatiy television shows. There will be less channels on the television and people will have more things like netflix, amazon prime, and shows that are calculated by how many views. Cable won’t be the best front runner, it won’t exist like it does now. Classes will be more active based for learning and not simply sitting in a classroom to learn to hands on by the technology allowing them to touch the math they are working on and move around.

Work in school will be tablet or computer based but homework will be put on paper and written out. Colleges will change to decrease it’s cost by having people do a required internship from their sophomore year to gain work experience.

In this world, technology will not dominate but it will have a balance.

My Media Technology

This question is slightly difficult to answer because I work at a technology company so there is a grey area for what tech I use and what I use for work. I don’t pay for any of the sites I use unless you count what my work pays for, but we haven’t gotten there fully yet. I am starting the Social Networking department for a small business so daily I will be on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, and HubSpot, Depending how many hours I am at work depends on long I use all of these.

I don’t know if the technology is limited to apps because my phone is on my constantly although I have been taking “tech breaks” so that I can just be in silence and not feel as though I always need to be reachable and have to be talking to people, instead I would like to be outside enjoying a hike or reading a good book.

So that brings about other tech, I guess right now being on WordPress to do this assignment which includes being on my lap top where my phone is next to me alerting me about what time it is so I see how much longer I have longer I have before out class chat begins. Then on the television it’s a Roku set up so I have pandora playing with the icon dancing around the screen. Just to do this post I am engaging in three different types of technology. When I am at work I can be on the computer or set up at a station with duel computers where I am looking at two screen at once. I don’t have a set answer for this because at times I can be overloaded with tech, and then other times I am enjoying the silence and stillness of having no technology but I can say my life is filled with it.

Tech Games and Social Interaction

The Studio 360 video honestly did not make a lot of sense to me. I am a fan of Pac-man and I think it’s a great game, so the concept of making it eat parasites is cool. I just don’t understand why someone really made it into a game. I guess it could be interesting to show kids that these are parasites and the medicine we are doing is going to eat it all up and leave your body. In that sense it could be fun and pretty cool. However they showed the set up and more how to put it in, not really them playing so I don’t know if the Pac-man is actually eating up the parasites so the game does not really make sense to me.

In the description they had a Pac-man champ come play it and compared the difference that he’s leading them and not really chasing the parasites. Which I guess has to do with the electricity. I may be looking for something that was clearly spelled out but I am missing it on this Studio 360 video.

For the BBC article, “Technology feeds grassroots media” it’s a very interesting perspective to compare new technology and the way of communicating to dinosaurs. The fact that people don’t freely communicate and have to be told to not be on their phones or some find it so difficult to be without their phone they honestly lose it, you’re able to see something becoming extinct. However with communication I don’t think it will go a little differently than the dinosaurs. They were all killed off, but not everyone allows their lives to be consumed by blogs, wikis, podcast, and all these other things. There are some who reject this technology.

In our class reading “Framing Conversations about Technology” it talked about how people are afraid of technology. Not everyone jumps on board with technology and embrace it. This BBC article kind of explained what each outlet is. Yes it has brought about a new way of communicating, but this also stirs conversation then on Social Media, which then leads to actual conversations and a relate ability. This has taken the news paper where you needed approval and a set voice for whatever voice the paper wanted or view point, and has given them a freedom to speak their opinion, even if it’s not exactly fact based or well researched. Hasn’t it just given to the freedom of speech? Newspapers are printed once a day, blogs, podcasts and wikis can be updated at anytime, done anywhere, and written multiple times a day.

Thank you Gentlemen

Sorry for the lack of posting! Playing catch up now and we are going all the way back to January 6 for this post.

Thank you to the gentleman out there and for this girl who wrote this that is truly uplifting. Here are also some verses for reflection:
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. Psalm 34:17-20
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:5-8)

This blog continues to come to mind whenever the thought of, where are Godly men are in this world. They do exist, I have met them and seen them. Media tells us guys are to sleep around, that’s how they ultimately learn how to truly treat a woman. It’s not much better when girls accept this and give into what media and this world tells us. In 2 Corinthians 11:2-3 it says, “I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” This is what the world can so easily do it to us, but that is why we’re to stand firm in the Lord.

If you have a guy friend and he’s truly being a Godly man, encourage him, be a friend. Don’t complain about how terrible all men are. This discourages those good Godly men and can also lose you into accepting this cycle and not being the Godly woman that you can be. Reflect on God’s truth. Be Christ like. Don’t follow the things of this world.

Thank you for the gentleman and Godly men. Thank you for the woman who are Proverbs 31 woman and show Christ love.

What is Grace?

(John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ ”) Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. John 1:15-18

There can either be two extremes, think we don’t deserve God’s grace or we abuse his grace because we are saved by it Both are so wrong that we need to know God, he is just, he is fair, he does what is best for us. Next time you think the phase, well God’s grace has saved me, really reflect on that. What do you need saving from? How are you aware of God’s grace? Is this a continues action that you’re choosing to not change? Truly think about why you’re thankful for God’s grace.

On the other side, you are deserving of God’s grace. There is no wrong that you have done that doesn’t surprise God. God wants to save you, he wants to hold you, he wants to rescue you. Allow God to work in your life and seek him when the things of this world seem so great. God has conquered this world. He has conquered all that you’re dealing with.

Satan would love for us to stop praying and seeking God. We could read the Bible all we want but if we lose our relationship with God then it can be another book we read. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 we’re told, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (NIV) Pray continually! God will show you his grace. You are deserving and you are saved by God. Be aware if you’re doing your will or God’s will.

Aside

Getting Too Specific

Reading certain verses can give conflicting thoughts to what God is trying to tell us. Getting caught up in all the technicalities we can miss out on God’s glory. Read this article in Relevant Magazine:

It’s hard to see verses when there is specific information. Getting hung up on the minor details and not see all that God’s trying to show us.

Not Qualified

This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:22-24

Grace

As Christians we are a people saved by God’s grace. With that it changes our hearts, how we treat others and ourselves.
John 1:15-17

Grace, it doesn’t come from us being good people, it’s a gift from God. Is grace on us is a gift and our grace to others. We cannot do that along we need him. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit enter our hearts. In this world it is filled with sin, we should not expect things to be fair nor does it give us a right to mistreat others. When someone mistreats us then it gives us the chance to grow in grace. We need to seek God.

Philippians 2:3-5 – “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus”

Colossians 3:12-15 – “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

Ephesians 1:6-9 – “to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,”

Each one of these verses are amazing reminds to know we are to be humble and show grace, because God has given us that ability. We have an amazing God! Jesus came to Earth to give us the chance to have the Holy Spirit in our heart. It is thank to him that we are able to have him with us at all times. With God we suffer so that we can grow closer to him, we need him. Through suffering it challenges our faith to show us how much we need him.

Romans 5:3-6 – “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.”

There is no words that I can put to show the true glory of the Holy Spirit but Jesus wanted us to know that even though he is not physically with us, the Holy Spirit is at all times. We are NEVER alone. Take peace in knowing that and that grace is not a right nor something that we are blessed with that no one else understands. This should be how we live our life and others know grace by our actions.

Now I will leave you with the words of Jesus in John 14:25-27 , “’All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.'”
